Scholarship Judge Role<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Scholarship Judges represent local colleges and universities\nwho have committed to offer scholarships to students participating in the Pittsburgh\nRegional Science and Engineering Fair (PRSEF) which is a regional science fair\naffiliated with Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Each school is entitled to choose students whose work\ndemonstrates excellence in the school\u2019s areas of interest or specialization and\nto honor those students with their scholarship awards. The criteria for each\nscholarship are determined by each school before the fair. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In the month prior to the fair, the representatives of each\nschool will be sent a list of students who have indicated interest in their\nschool. Scholarship judges are encouraged to review the abstracts for the\nprojects belonging to those students before the fair to narrow down their\ninterview list for the day of the fair. A list of interview requests must be\nsubmitted to the fair director prior to the fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the day of the fair, Scholarship\nJudges work with other representatives of their school using a combination of\nreviewing student abstracts, previewing fair day project submissions and\ninterviewing students, to evaluate all students whose projects fit the criteria\nset by their school to choose the winner(s) of the scholarship(s). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Registering to be a Scholarship Judge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If you already have\nan account at https:\/\/www.STEMipshere.org\/PRSEF<\/a>, log in and look for the Judge\/Volunteer\nRegistration widget on the right side of your screen. Select \u201cScholarship Judge\u201d\nand then click on the red \u201cRegister\u201d button. Continue to the next step in the user\nmanual \u2013 Complete your registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you do not have\nan account at https:\/\/www.STEMisphere.org\/PRSEF<\/a> yet, you will need to create an account. You can click on \u201cRegister to Be a Judge or\nVolunteer here\u201d or you can go directly to https:\/\/www.STEMisphere.org\/PRSEF\/judge-volunteer-registration<\/a> to create your account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Enter your name and\nthe email address you would like us to use to contact you with fair information.\nThe email address you enter here will also be the username you will use to\naccess the system in the future. Next choose your password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From the \u201cRegistration\nType\u201d drop down menu, choose \u201cScholarship Judge\u201d and then click the \u201cI\u2019m not a\nrobot\u201d box. Click on the red \u201cRegister\u201d\nbox to continue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Complete your\nregistration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n On the registration\npage, you should first choose your school from the \u201cCollege\u201d drop down list. If\nyou do not see your school listed, please contact PRSEF@CarnegieScienceCenter.org<\/a>. Next select your role. Choose \u201cJudge\u201d if\nyou plan to evaluate projects on the day of the fair and \u201cPresenter\u201d if you\nplan to attend the award ceremony to present your award. You may choose both\noptions if you plan to participate in both events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You will see\nadditional information fields like your phone number and job title. Confirm your contact information, then click\non the red \u201cSubmit Registration\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You will receive a\nconfirmation email from CSC STEMisphere at CSC STEMisphereInfo at STEMisphereInfo@CarnegieScienceCenter.Org<\/a>. Check the\nemail address you entered during registration. Please check your\njunk mail folder if you do not see this email. \nAll other fair information will come from the email address PRSEF@CarnegieScienceCenter.org<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Changing your\ninformation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If you need to\nchange your email address or phone number,go to https:\/\/www.STEMisphere.org\/PRSEF<\/a> and log in. Make your corrections in the Update\nInformation section and click on the red \u201cUpdate\u201d button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Unregistering to judge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n While we appreciate\nyour volunteering to judge at the fair, we understand the sometimes plans\nchange and you will not be able to participate as you originally intended. If you\nneed to cancel your registration, go to https:\/\/www.STEMisphere.org\/PRSEF<\/a> and log in. \nScroll down to UnRegister, enter the reason you need to unregister and\nthen click on the red \u201cUnregister\u201d button. \n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Filling multiple roles<\/strong> If you are filling more than one role (Parent and Scholarship Judge for example), you will need to switch between profiles to access all of the applicable forms and functionality. To move between profiles, log in and then look to the horizontal menu just below the black and white speckled area.
